ABA Therapy for Preteens at Our La Salle Location
Intensive ABA Therapy for Preteens with Significant Needs. Specialized support for children ages 9-13 with severe behaviors. Building skills for coping, communication, and community success.
Bridging the Gap for Preteens with Complex Needs
Specialized Care for Preteens with Significant Needs
The preteen years—ages 9 to 13—can be particularly challenging for children with autism and significant behavioral needs. They've outgrown programs designed for young children, but aren't yet ready for teen or adult services. Many families find themselves without good options during these critical years.
Our La Salle location was designed specifically for this age group. We provide intensive ABA therapy for preteens with severe behaviors that may impact their ability to attend school or require a specialized approach to building language and functional skills.
Our La Salle program serves preteens who need intensive support:
Children ages 9-13 with autism spectrum disorder
Preteens with severe behaviors that may prevent school attendance
Those who require intensive approaches to building language and functional skills
Children transitioning from early childhood programs who need continued intensive support
Families who have been told their child's needs are too significant for other programs
A School-Day Structure with Therapeutic Goals
Like our other intensive programs, our La Salle location follows a school-day structure. This provides consistency and prepares preteens for eventual transition back to school or other settings. Our program focuses on:
Coping with Change
Building flexibility and resilience when routines change or unexpected events occur.
Responding to Instructions
Developing the ability to follow directions in both one-on-one and group settings.
Appropriate Leisure Activities
Learning to engage in age-appropriate activities during unstructured time.
Communication Skills
Whether verbal, AAC, or other methods—helping each child express themselves effectively.
Emotional Regulation
Managing frustration, anxiety, and other emotions without escalation.
Peer Interaction
Building social skills appropriate for the preteen years.
Supporting Who Your Child Is- Not Trying to Change Them
At CBLG, the goal of ABA therapy is not to change who your child is. It's to support their success within your family and community.
We help preteens build skills that make their lives easier: communication tools to express their needs, coping strategies to manage challenging moments, and independence skills to participate more fully in daily life. We celebrate their unique personalities while helping them navigate a world that isn't always built for them.
