FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Who can benefit from our services?

We work with individuals facing developmental and behavioral challenges, including those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, ADHD, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, and similar conditions. Our programs are designed for children, adolescents, and adults who may have been removed from traditional environments due to severe behaviors.

  • What services do you offer?

We provide intensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy that focuses on reducing challenging behaviors, enhancing communication and daily living skills, and empowering our clients to take charge of their futures. Each treatment plan is personalized to address the unique needs of the individual.

  • How is ABA therapy delivered at Colorado Behavior and Learning Group?

Our ABA therapy is grounded in evidence-based practices and is delivered in a safe, supportive environment. We offer flexible service delivery across multiple settings—whether in our clinic, within the community, or directly in the home—to best suit the client’s needs.

  • What sets your approach apart?

At Colorado Behavior and Learning Group, we focus on creating an environment where every client feels safe, heard, and empowered. We collaborate closely with families, educators, and other professionals to build a comprehensive support network, fostering both immediate progress and long-term independence.

  • How do you support a transition to less restrictive environments?

Our ultimate goal is to prepare each client for a successful transition to environments such as school, community, or home. Through personalized treatment plans and continuous skill development, we work to build the confidence and independence needed for a smoother transition and improved quality of life.

  • What funding sources do you accept?

ABA therapy is covered by most major insurance providers. Colorado Behavior and Learning Group is in-network with Tricare, Medicaid, Aetna, Anthem, Cigna/Evernorth, and UHC/Optum. Our team is here to help you navigate the insurance process to ensure you receive the benefits available for your therapy.

  • What are the qualifications of your staff, and how do RBTs and BCBAs contribute to therapy?

Our team is composed of highly qualified professionals dedicated to providing top-tier ABA therapy. Our staff includes Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), who are trained in the fundamentals of behavior analysis and provide direct, hands-on therapy. They work closely under the guidance of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), professionals with advanced training and certification who design, oversee, and adjust individualized treatment plans to ensure the best outcomes for each client. This collaborative approach ensures that every aspect of our therapy is both effective and compassionate.

  • Do you offer Speech, Occupational, Physical, or Individual Therapy?

We focus on intensive ABA therapy at CBLG. While we don't directly offer these additional therapies, we partner with licensed professionals to provide them on-site when insurance allows. This integrated approach ensures effective co-treatment, a unified behavior plan, and comprehensive support for our clients. This approach also allows our co-treatment therapists to provide services to individuals who often cannot receive these services due to severe behaviors.

  • How Are ABA Therapy Hours Prescribed?

At Colorado Behavior and Learning Group, we follow an intensive service model that typically recommends 20–40 hours per week of direct treatment. This high-intensity approach is designed to help clients rapidly acquire new or replacement skills and decrease challenging behaviors, with enhanced BCBA/BCaBA supervision, direct parent teaching, and regular progress monitoring. While this model is research-supported for promoting swift transitions into typical learning and social environments, the overall duration of services is tailored to each child's unique needs rather than set by a predetermined "end date." Additionally, our treatment plans include a structured fade or discharge phase, gradually reducing service hours so that families can continue to maintain progress independently.

  • Are the staff at CBLG trained in crisis management?

At Colorado Behavior and Learning Group, safety is our top priority. All our staff are trained and certified in Professional Crisis Management by PCMA, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle emergencies and challenging situations. Our crisis protocols, including detailed Behavior Intervention Plans, are regularly reviewed by management and shared with caregivers to promote transparency and trust. We welcome caregivers to visit our clinic at any time to review these procedures and feel confident in the care provided.
